An alarming high percentage of IT system back ups prove to be faulty when needed for emergency data recovery.
With this in mind, Egton introduces the Tape Validation Service (TVS), a solution which verifies that customer back up tapes can be used to accurately recreate the database on your clinical system. The service also covers enterprise systems where the clinical server is based within the PCT.
With Egton’s TVS, we take a copy of your organisation's system back up data and test it thoroughly. On receipt of your data, we check that it can be read and that the information restores correctly. We then recreate this data on our own server, analyse the data and produce statistical reports, as proof that your clinical system can be restored in the event of a disaster.
One-in-ten standard software back ups prove to be faulty or unreadable when called upon for emergency data recovery.

Egton’s TVS protects you against dangers such as fire, malicious damage, theft and hardware failure. As well, of course, as reassuring you that your data is safe, secure and reproducible.
Egton provides validations services for practices using the following clinical systems:
-
EMIS
-
Vision
-
Synergy
-
GPASS
-
Premiere.
Egton also provides Data Validation Services (DVS) for all organisations, regardless of your operating system and network set-up.

Why do we need to validate our data?
Misaligned recording heads and errors during the tape writing process can cause clinical data to corrupt, yet it still appears to be present on the tape - meaning that you are unaware of any problems.
Five day express turnaround
All organisations that sign up for our validation service qualify for our five day express turnaround.
The express turnaround guarantees that your Tape Validation Service and report will be dispatched within five working days on receipt of your back up tape.
Safe and secure
Where appropriate, Egton's TVS engineers are MOD cleared and CRB checked.
In addition, Egton holds the International Standard
ISO/IEC 27001:2005 for information security management.
